Creao Business Cards
I have a long-standing friendship with Allan Smyth. Allan Smyth is the proprietor of Creao Studio in Harrogate – a great place to record your jam or a podcast. I use it for the latter.
I may have mentioned The Parish News? That is my podcast. The Parish News is a radio show I run that gets broadcast on Resonance EXTRA in the small hours of Friday morning, as well as other stations dotted on either side of the Atlantic.
The show plays exploratory music. Music that really pushes the boundaries.
Creao Studio is a multi-functional arts space and Allan needed a business card to reflect that. As a Graphic Designer, I love it when the brief is open – it is a dream brief! I did not get told what he wanted but I was left with a tabula rasa. I just wanted to convey how the studio was a uniting force for the musical community in Harrogate. I was left to run free! This is the best way I work as a Graphic Designer and as a Web Designer.
So, how did I interpret an open brief?
Well, the dots represent all of the ‘individuals’ who use the studio – they are bought together on the canvas that is the card. So, like the studio itself, out of many come one movement unified. I think the card represents this.
