Designing for Launch Logos
Fair cop – I admit that this is a personal project; but look at what I can do when I have free reign.
The site was for Andrew Backhouse Design’s sister company, Launch Logos.
Launch Logos is a freelancer’s (me) design studio creating bespoke logos and corporate branding.

Project Brief
The remit behind the company, Launch Logos, is that they tip their cap to mid-century modernism. So, this certainly needed to be reflected in the Launch Logos website.
There needed to be a visually led way of getting the site a fighting chance in the SERP. This would be tricky because content is king.
There is plenty of opportunity for there to be text, the site s optimised for a good set of keywords, all researched on Google Ads.
I built this site all in browser – relying on User research. Because it is a personal build, I could just plough on and not wait for an email reply. It was good fun and took just a weekend to make.
I decided on Black and White style site – I figure a logo needs to look good in black if it is to ever work, so I have a few Illustrator bounces on the site to act like fiery baubles.
I create logos for SMEs, Brands and… well, anyone who wants or needs a logo.
Designing Solutions
My aim was to provide an intuitive, frictionless viewing process. I needed to make it obvious what I did and who I did it for – I needed plain points of contact. I needed a functioning, clear menu.
Next Steps
Through a process of iteration, websites are never really finished.
I admit that my main business is Andrew Backhouse Design and designing websites for Start ups. But, it is fun to diversify and to work as a logo designer.
I have completed the courses I studied, teaching me the trade and I am looking forward ti getting more clients.
Conclusion
The more I see it, Web3.0 is elevating websites and domains to be more than digital calling cards – I needed to make something that made my clients appreciate me and show people that a well-designed website is an asset.
If you want to hunt down the site, please google it and search for Launch Logos. I admit it is all up for change (and, change it I may) but it acts as a line drawn in the sand.
